Milestone reached - 100 installs
On May 22 2026, I’m proud to announce that our API service that provides free flight tracking data to TRMNL users has hit 100 installations.
This was our first major implementation of a backend written in TypeScript with a form of OAuth implementation, that is actively providing a service to the public. It was certainly a fun challenge to work on and extremely educational (I never want to touch OAuth again). This push also inspired setting up High-Availability in the homelab across two PVE nodes with shared networked storage. The performance is acceptable, with a 10G switch (SFP) coming in soon.
